CHAPTER 187.

AN ACT to "repeal and re-enact with amendments Sections
240, 247, 262 and 272 (F) of Article 17 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Prince George's County, " sub-titles "Colmar Manor"
and "Cottage City, " respectively, changing the boun-
daries of said towns and fixing the criminal jurisdiction
of the Justices of the Peace therein.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Sections 240, 247, 262 and 272 (F) of
Article 17 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1930 Edition), title "Prince George's County, " sub-titles
"Colmar Manor" and "Cottage City, " respectively, be and
they are hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments
to read as follows:

240. The boundaries of the said town of Colmar Manor
shall be as follows: Beginning at the intersection of the
east boundary line of the Fort Lincoln Cemetery with the
line of the Washington-Baltimore Boulevard, and running
thence due north to the centre line of said Boulevard and
thence along the centre line of said Boulevard to high water
mark on the east bank of Anacostia River, thence along
said high water mark on said east bank to the boundary
line of the District of Columbia, thence along said District
of Columbia boundary line to the Fort Lincoln Cemetery,
thence along the Fort Lincoln Cemetery to the point of
beginning.

247. The Mayor, with the approval of the majority of
the Councilmen, shall designate a Justice of the Peace to
act as a Police Justice, shall appoint a Solicitor, a Marshal
and a Health Officer to hold office for two years, or until
their successors are appointed and qualified. The Mayor
and Council shall fix the compensation of each, and of all
subordinates under them, and shall prescribe their duties
except as herein provided; provided, however, that the Jus-
tice of the Peace acting as a Police Justice, the Solicitor,
and the Marshal and the Marshal's assistants shall receive
no compensation other than such fees as are allowed Jus-
tices of the Peace and Constables in similar cases. The
Marshal and the Health Officer shall each, with the appro-
val of the Mayor and Council, appoint such assistant or
assistants, as the Mayor and Council will, allow, and shall
be held responsible under the Mayor for the enforcement
