CHAPTER 158.

AN ACT to authorize the Board of County Commissioners
of Montgomery County to employ agents or brokers to
assist in selling bonds, certificates of indebtedness and
notes of the county, and to ratify the employment of an
agent or broker for negotiating for the sale of Mont-
gomery County General Construction Bonds of 1932.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Board of County Commissioners of
Montgomery County shall be authorized and empowered
to employ, whenever it deems such employment for the best
interests of the county, an agent or broker to assist in
negotiating or selling any bonds, certificates of indebted-
ness or notes of the county and pay for the services of
such agent or broker out of the proceeds of sale or out of
any other available funds of the county; provided, how-
ever, that the amount so paid in connection with the sale
of the bonds shall not exceed 1/2 of 1% of the face amount
thereof, and in connection with the sale of certificates of
indebtedness and notes, shall not exceed 1/2 of 1% of the
face amount thereof.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the employ-
ment by said Board of County Commissioners of an agent
or broker for negotiating with investment banking insti-
tutions and securing bids for Montgomery County General
Construction Bonds of 1932, be and the same is hereby
ratified and confirmed, and said Board is authorized to
pay to said agent or broker a reasonable sum for his serv-
ices, but not exceeding the percentage specified in Section
1 of this Act.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1933.

AN ACT to authorize and empower the Mayor and Council
of Gaithersburg to direct, in their discretion, the Treas-
urer of said town to postpone all sales for taxes levied
