by said Council for the fiscal years 1932-1933 and 1933-
1934 for a period not exceeding six months after the
same are in arrears.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Mayor and Council of Gaithersburg be
and they are hereby authorized and empowered to direct,
in their discretion, the Treasurer of said town to postpone
all sales for taxes levied by said Council for the fiscal years
1932-1933 and 1933-1934, for a period not exceeding six
months after said taxes are in arrears.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is
hereby declared to be an emergency law and necessary for
the immediate preservation of the public health and safety,
and being passed by a yea and nay vote, supported by
three-fifths of all the members elected to each of the two
Houses of the General Assembly, the same shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 160.
AN ACT to amend Section 902 of Article 16 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland, entitled "Montgomery
County, " so as to amend the limitation of $2, 500. 00 for
the maintenance of the Silver Spring Volunteer Fire
Department, Inc., and further defining the area within
which the annual levy is to be made and the method of
determining the amount of said levy.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Chapter 500 of the Acts of the General
Assembly of Maryland of 1927, codified as Section 902 of
Article 16 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland,
entitled "Montgomery County, " be and the same is hereby
repealed and re-enacted to read as follows:
902. That for the purpose of providing funds with
which to maintain and operate a fire department in Silver
Spring, Montgomery County, the County Commissioners
of Montgomery County are hereby authorized and em-
