SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the County Commissioners of Baltimore
County be and they are hereby authorized, in their dis-
cretion, to consent to the use of and to appropriate a por-
tion of the funds of Baltimore County on deposit in any
bank or banks, for the purchase and acquisition of shares
of stock of any such bank or banks reorganized or to be
reorganized including participation in any trust or co-
operative plans or otherwise under any plan for the re-
organization of any such banks and in any plan providing
for limited withdrawals of County funds. Provided, how-
ever, that such consent and/or appropriation of any such
funds shall not be given by said County Commissioners
until the proposed plan of reorganization of such bank or
banks has been first approved by the proper Federal and/or
State authorities.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is
hereby declared to be an emergency law and necessary for
the immediate preservation of the public health and safety,
and being passed by a yea and nay vote, supported by
three-fifths of all the members elected to each of the two
Houses of the General Assembly, the same shall take ef-
fect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 124.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section
842 of Article 17 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Prince George's
County, " sub-title "Orphans' Court, " decreasing the com-
pensation of the Judges of the Orphans' Court.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 842 of Article 17 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Prince George's County, " sub-title "Orphans' Court, " be
and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments
to read as follows:
842. The judges of the Orphans' Court of Prince
George's County shall each receive a per diem salary of
