standing at any one time, for the purpose of providing
payment of the current expenses of the schools of said
county until such time as payment is made of funds
levied or appropriated and payable to said Board by Tal-
bot County and/or the State of Maryland, for school
purposes.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Board of Education of Talbot County
is hereby authorized and empowered to borrow, from time
to time, a sum of money not to exceed Twenty-five Thou-
sand Dollars to be outstanding at any one time, for the
purpose of providing payment of the current expenses of
the schools of said county until such time as payment is
made of funds levied or appropriated and payable to said
Board by Talbot County and/or the State of Maryland, for
school purposes, and to issue for said indebtedness the note
or notes of the Board of Education of Talbot County, said
note or notes to be signed by the President of said Board,
to be countersigned by the Treasurer thereof, with the cor-
porate seal thereto affixed, and to bear interest from their
date of issuance at a rate not exceeding six per centum per
annum.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That in order to pay
the said note or notes which may be issued from time to
time hereunder, together with the interest thereon, the
Board of Education of Talbot County is hereby authorized
and directed to apply thereon, when and as received, the
particular funds levied or appropriated and payable to said
Board by Talbot County and/or the State of Maryland for
school purposes, and against the receipt by said Board of
which said funds said loans were made.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act is
hereby declared to be an emergency law and necessary for
the immediate preservation of the public health and safety,
and being passed by a yea and nay vote, supported by
three-fifths of all the members elected to each of the two
Houses of the General Assembly, the same shall take effect
from the date of its passage.
