said registration shall be given by hand bills to be posted
in at least ten places in said town, at least ten days before
the first Monday in March, and said registers of voters
shall duly register all persons possessing the qualifications
as required by Section 287 of Article 8 of the Public Local
Laws of the State of Maryland, who shall apply in person
for registration. Any register of voters who shall know-
ingly violate the provisions of this Act shall be guilty of a
misdemeanor and upon conviction shall be punished under
the General Laws of this State relating to registration,
and said books of registration be turned over to said Presi-
dent and the Commissioners of North East for safe keep-
ing, and shall by said President and Commissioners be de-
livered to the Judge or Judges of any Town Election for
the purpose of holding said Town Election, and no person
shall be entitled to vote at any Town Election unless his
or her name shall have been duly registered as aforesaid,
and no person shall be entitled to have his or her name on
any ballot or to be voted for as a Candidate or President
or Commissioner of said town who shall not have filed
with said President and Commissioners at least ten days
before the third Monday of March, or the date on which
an election is to be held for President and Commissioners
of the Town of North East, a certificate certifying for
what office he is a candidate and that he is qualified under
the provisions of this Act for such office.

The provisions, prohibitions and penalties of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland, relating to corrupt practices, shall
be applicable to all elections held by virtue of the authority
given in this Article.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That all laws and
parts of laws inconsistent with this Act be and the same
are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1933.
