said new section to be known as Section 288A and to fol-
low immediately after Section 288 of said Article, all to
read as follows:

287. Said board shall consist of five persons—a Presi-
dent and four Commissioners—who shall be citizens of the
United States at least twenty-five years of age, and
bona fide residents of said town for at least two years next
preceding the date of their election, and shall each in his
or her own right or in the right of her husband or his
wife own taxable property in the said town, assessed at
not less than six hundred dollars ($600. 00), and all
citizens of the United States above twenty-one years of age
who shall own property assessed in the limits of the
town and shall have paid their tax, and all inhabit-
ants of the town, citizens of the United States, above
twenty-one years of age, who shall have bona fide resided
in the town for two years next preceding the election at
which they shall offer to vote and who shall have been
duly registered as hereinafter provided, shall be entitled to
vote for said President and Commissioners.

288A. The President and Commissioners of said town
are hereby authorized and directed not later than the first
Monday in March, in the year nineteen hundred and
thirty-four, and by the first Monday in March, in every
year thereafter to appoint two registers of voters for the
Town of North East, said registers of voters shall re-
ceive the same compensation as registers of voters under
a General Law of the State, and shall hold office for one
year, - and until their successors are duly appointed and
qualified; said registers shall take the usual oath of office
before the President of said Commissioners of the Town
of North East, and the President and Commissioners of
the Town of North East shall procure and deliver to the
said registers of voters two suitable registration books,
similar in all respects to the registration books now in use
under the Election Laws of Maryland, and also designate
the place where the registration shall be held each year.
Said registers of voters shall open their books of regis-
tration at the place designated by the said President and
Commissioners on the first Monday and Tuesday of March,
in the year nineteen hundred and thirty-four for a com-
plete registration of the voters in the Town of North East,
who possess the necessary qualifications, and every year
thereafter on the first Monday in March to register new
voters and to revise the list of said registration; notice of
