poration or other political sub-division thereof, it shall be
lawful for the treasurer or collector of any county, munici-
pal corporation or other political sub-division thereof, by
and with the consent of the governing body of any such
county or municipal corporation or other political sub-
division to which any such deposit may belong, to join with
the other depositors of such banking institution in a plan
for the reopening or reorganization thereof or the estab-
lishment of a new bank as hereinbefore provided, and for
such purpose such respective treasurer or collector may
bind said county, municipal corporation or other political
sub-division thereof, as the case may be, after being duly
authorized so to do as above provided, to limit withdrawals
from such deposit over a period of time and in accordance
with such plan as may have been agreed to by the other
depositors of said bank.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That Section 61 of
Article 11 of the Annotated Code of Public General Laws
of Maryland, title "Banks and Trust Companies, " sub-title
"Bank Commissioner, " be, and the same is hereby repealed.
SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That this Act is an
emergency law and necessary for the immediate preserva-
tion of the public health and safety, and having been passed
by a yea and nay vote, supported by three-fifths of all the
members elected to each of the two Houses of the General
Assembly, the same shall take effect from the date of its
passage.

CHAPTER 530.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sec-
tion 4 of Article 11 of the Annotated Code of Public
General Laws of Maryland, Edition of 1924, entitled
"Banks and Trust Companies, " sub-title "Bank Commis-
sioner, " to prohibit the Bank Commissioner, Deputy
Bank Commissioner, or any examiner or clerk employed
by the Bank Commissioner, from owning any stock of
any bank or trust company or other corporation sub-
ject to examination and supervision of the Bank Com-
missioner.
