Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall
go into effect from its passage.

CHAPTER 51.

 

AN ACT to incorporate a Company to build a
Turnpike Road from Union Bridge, Carroll
county, to Unionville, Frederick county.

7, 1866.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That a company be incorporated for
making a turnpike road from Union Bridge, Car-
roll county, to Unionville, Frederick county, to he
known and styled as the Union Bridge and Union-
ville Turnpike Company.

Incorporated.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That subscription
hooks may be opened at Union Bridge and Union-
ville, under the direction of Jesse Anders, James
Pearre, Moses Shaw, John F. Dudderar, John
Clemson, Jos. Moore, A. Stoner, Stephen Haines,
Nicholas Norris, Peter H. Shriner and Dennis D.
H. Clemson, for a capital stock of twelve thousand
dollars, in shares of twenty dollars each, who are
hereby appointed commissioners for the purpose
aforesaid, who after at least twenty days notice by
publication in two newspapers, that is, one in each
county, Frederick and Carroll, of the time and
place of opening said subscription books, at which
time and at such place at least three of the above
named commissioners shall attend, and shall per-
mit all persons and corporations who shall offer to
subscribe, in person or by attorney, for stock in
said books, which shall be kept open for that pur-
pose at least four hours in each day for as many
days as in their judgment may be deemed neces-

then subscribed for, the said commissioners may
re-open said books at such times and places as they
may think fit, under the direction of said commis-
