CHAPTER 40.

AN ACT to amend the Act of eighteen hundred
and fifty-three, chapter three hundred and
eighteen, entitled an Act incorporating the Bo-
hemia Bridge Company, of Cecil county, Mary-
land.

Passed Feb.
8, 1866.

WHEREAS, By an Act of the General Assembly
of Maryland, passed at January session, eighteen
hundred and fifty-three, chapter three hundred
and eighteen, certain persons therein named were
created a body corporate and politic, by the name
of Bohemia Bridge Company, of Cecil county,
Maryland; and whereas, several of said persons, to-
wit: James L. Craig, Griffith M. Eldridge, Samuel
Martindale and L. D. Nowland, have since died,
and one of said persons, to-wit: Richard H. Bryan,
has removed from the State of Maryland, and in
order to carry out the provisions of said Act, it is
necessary to substitute other persons in the stead
of those who have as aforesaid, died or removed
from the State; therefore,

Preamble.

SECTION. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That William M. Knight, Lewis P.
Ellison, George W. Bennett, James T. McCul-
lough, William T. Welden, he and they are hereby
substituted in the stead of James L. Craig, Grif-
fith M. Eldridge, Samuel Martindale, L. D. Now-
land and Richard H. Bryan, with all the powers
granted to the said persons so deceased and remov-
ed, by any and all the provisions of the said Act
of eighteen hundred and fifty-three, chapter three
hundred and eighteen.

Incorporated.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the second sec-
tion of said Act, shall be and the same is hereby
amended so as to allow the capital stock of said
Company to be increased to eight hundred shares,
and that each share shall be forty dollars.

Capital stock.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That section four
of said Act, be and the same is hereby repealed,
and that the management of the business and con-
cerns of said Company shall be vested in five di-
rectors, of whom the County Commissioners of
Cecil county, shall be entitled to elect one director
for every three thousand dollars of stock in said
