of all claims or balances due on said bonds upon
the payment of all costs and commissions arising
upon suits instituted in Allegany county Circuit
court.

Repealed.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That all laws and
parts of laws inconsistent with the provisions of this
act, be and the same are hereby repealed.

In force.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

 

CHAPTER 99.

Passed Feb.
8, 1866.

AN ACT to provide for the repair or rebuilding
of the County Jail in Prince George's County.

Authorized
to rebuild.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the Commissioners and the
State's Attorney of Prince George's county be, and
are hereby authorised, in their discretion, to re-
build or repair the county jail of said county; and
that they shall have power, if deemed necessary
by them, to sell and convey the present jail build-
ing and lot of ground, either at -public or private
sale, and to purchase any other site proper for the
location of a new jail; or to repair or rebuild the
present jail, in whole or in part, in their dis-
cretion; and in case they shall decide to sell the
present jail and lot aforesaid, the proceeds shall be
applied by them toward the purchase of another

provided, that the whole cost of executing this act
shall not exceed eight thousand dollars.

Contract.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the said Com-
missioners and State's Attorney are hereby em-
powered to enter into any contracts that may be
necessary to carry out the purposes of this act.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That any sum here-
