owner or owners of said mill to properly carry on
the business of milling.
Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the said Presi-
dent and Directors of said Canal are also hereby
authorized and empowered to grant to the present
or any future owner or owners of said mill, full
power and authority to divert the course of the
said waste-water of said Canal, in such manner and
to such extent as will enable said owner or owners
fully and effectually to carry out the provisions of
the preceding section.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That all laws or parts
of laws, inconsistent with the provisions of this
Act, be, and the same are hereby repealed.

Sec. 4. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from and after the date of its passage.

AN ACT for the relief of the sureties of Moses
Rawlings for the years eighteen hundred and
forty-six, eighteen hundred and forty-seven
and eighteen hundred and forty-eight, upon his
sheriff bond.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the sureties of Moses Rawlings,
on his sheriff bond for the years eighteen hundred
and forty-six, eighteen hundred and forty-seven
and eighteen hundred and forty-eight, be and they
are hereby released from the payment of the sum
of ninety-eight dollars and sixty-eight cents, shown
to be due on the first day of September, eighteen
hundred and fifty-one, and the sureties on the
bond of said Moses Rawlings, late sheriff of Alle-
gany county, for the years eighteen hundred and
forty-seven and eighteen hundred and forty-eight,
be and they are hereby released from, the payment
