or disturbing the good order of the town, or in vio-

lation of any of the ordinances intended to secure
|
 
|
the safety of the lives or property of any of the
|
 
|
inhabitants of said town, or licensing traveling
|
 
|
showmen or exhibitors, the person or persons so
|
 
|
convicted may be committed to the jail of Carroll
|
 
|
county, or to some place of confinement provided
|
 
|
within the corporate limits of said town, by said
|
 
|
burgess or justice of the peace until the fine and
|
 
|
costs are paid, or for ten days, whichever shall first
|
 
|
occur; and the burgess or justice of the peace who
|

committed such oifender, may, when it seems to him

proper, order such offender to be discharged before
|
 
|
the expiration of ten days; and the sheriff of said
|

county shall be entitled to be paid by said corpora-

tion the same fees as he receives for keeping prisoners

SEC. 24. And be it enacted, That this act of

incorporation, embraced in the previous sections,
