Chapter 417.

AN ACT to encourage the destruction of Hawks
|
|
|
and Large Owls in Frederick county.
|
|
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
|
|
|
bly of Maryland, That every person who is an
|
|
|
actual resident of Frederick county shall be entitled
|
|
Allowance.
|
to an allowance from the county of thirty-five cents
|
|
|
for every hawk or large owl taken and killed by him
|
|
|
within the limits of Frederick county.
|
|
|
SEC. 2 And be it enacted, That the person killing
|
|
|
any of the birds of prey mentioned in the preceding
|
|
Produce head.
|
section of this act shall produce the head of the same
|
|
|
before some justice of the peace for said county, and
|
|
|
make oath that the said bird of prey was taken and
|
|
|
killed within the limits of Frederick county within
|
|
|
six days then preceding; and the justice shall there-
|
|
|
upon give such persons a certificate wherein he shall
|
|
|
set forth the said oath, for which he shall charge five
|
|
Compensation
|
cents as compensation in full thereon, and no more;
|
|
|
and shall at the same time cut off the beaks from
|
|
|
the heads of said birds of prey so as to prevent a
|
|
|
second allowance.

|
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
|
|

effect from the date of its passage.
