AN ACT to repeal section fifty-six of the Public
|
 
|
|
Local Laws, title " Kent County," sub-title "Ches-
|
 
|
|
tertown," passed on the first day of March, in the
|
 
|
|
year eighteen hundred and sixty-six, as amended
|
 
|
|
by an act passed at the session of eighteen hun-
|
 
|
|
dred and seventy-six, chapter three hundred and
|
 
|
|
fifty-live, and to re-enact the same with amend-
|
 
|
|
ments.
|
 
|
|
SECTION I. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
|
 
|
|
bly of Maryland, That section fifty-six, title " Kent
|
 
|
|
county," sub-title "Chestertown," of an act passed
|
 
|
|
on the first day of March, eighteen hundred and
|

sixty-six, as amended by an act passed at the session

re-enacted.

of eighteen hundred and seventy-six, chapter three
|
 
|
|
hundred and fifty-five, be and the same is hereby
|
 
|
|
repealed and re-enacted so as to read as follows :
|
 
|
|
56. The money which shall be annually levied
|
 
|
|
by the County Commissioners of Kent county for
|
 
|
|
repairing the streets, lanes and alleys of said town,
|
 
|
|
shall be paid to the commissioners of Chestertown
|
 
|
|
or their order, and shall be expended by them for
|

that purpose, and they shall appoint annually in the
|
 
|
|
month of May or June a supervisor of said streets,
|
 
|
|
lanes and alleys, and the said county commissioners
|
 
|
|
shall levy in each of the years eighteen hundred and
|
 
|
|
eighty-two and eighteen hundred and eighty-three,
|
 
|
|
for the use of the Commissioners of Chestertown, the
|
 
|
|
sum of six hundred and twenty-five dollars, and
|
 
|
|
annually thereafter such a sum not less than three
|
 
|
|
hundred dollars, nor more than six hundred and
|
 
|
|
twenty-five dollars, as the said county commissioners
|
 
|
|
shall in their discretion, after conference with the
|
 
|
|
Commissioners of Chestertown, determine to be suf-
|
 
|
|
ficient for the repairs of said streets, lanes and alleys.
|
 
|
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
