Chapter 339.
|

AN ACT to repeal section one of article thirteen
|
 
|
of the Code of Public General Laws, relating to
|
 
|
" Bastardy and Fornication," and to re-enact the
|
 
|
same so as to read as follows :
|
 
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
|
 
|
of Maryland. That section one of article thirteen
|
Repealed and
|
of the Code of Public General Laws, relating to
|
enacted in lieu

" Bastardy and Fornication," be and the same is
|
 
|
hereby repealed, and the following enacted in lieu
|
 
|
thereof.
|
 
|
1. Any justice of the peace upon information
|
 
|
given him of any woman having an illegitimate
|
 
|
child, may issue his warrant to a constable of the
|
 
|
county or city, and the said constable shall there-
|

upon take such person before some justice of the
|
children.

peace of the county, who shall require her to give
|
 
|
security to indemnify the county from any charge
|
 
|
that may accrue by means of such child, and upon
|
 
|
neglect or refusal, shall commit her to the custody
|

of the sheriff of the county, to be by him kept until
|

she shall give such security.

Chapter 340.
|
 
|
AN ACT to regulate and establish the pay of the
|
 
|
Bailiffs of the Circuit Court for Baltimore county.
|
 
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
|
 
|
bly of Maryland, That the bailiffs of the Circuit
|

Court for Baltimore county be paid a salary of fifty
|
 
|
dollars per month each in lieu of all fees.
|
 
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said salary

be due and payable by the County Commissioners
