|

AN ACT to secure the benefit of a five cent fare
|
 
|
upon the Passenger Horse Railways in the city
|
 
|
of Baltimore.
|
 
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
|
 
|
of Maryland, That each of the several passenger
|
 
|
horse railway companies in the city of Baltimore
|
 
|
shall charge five cents, and no more, for the con-
|

veyance of each passenger over twelve years of

age, and three cents, and no more, for each child
|
 
|
between the ages of four and twelve years, from
|
 
|
any point on any line of its railway to any other
|

point on such line within the city of Baltimore,

with a charge of three cents, and no more, for
|
 
|
transfers.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That in lieu and sub-
|
 
|
stitution of the twelve per cent, tax now imposed
|
 
|
upon and payable by the said several passenger
|
 
|
horse railway companies mentioned in the first
|
 
|
section of this act, that the said several passenger
|

gross receipts.

gross receipts of nine per cent., to be paid at the

same time and in the same manner as the tax of
