has been passed upon and approved by the said

county commissioners, or is to be, or to receive,

enjoy or participate in any benefit, profit or emolu-

ment arising from any such claim and demand, or

from any agreement or contract made and entered

into by the said county commissioners, except
|
 
|
such claims, demands and agreements as arise
|
 
|
directly to and with himself under and in the dis-
|
 
|
charge of the duties of his office.

SEC. 15. And be it further enacted, That the Cir-
|
 
|
cuit Court for Caroline county be and it is hereby
|
 
|
authorized and empowered, if the grand jury of
|
 
|
the said court, by written information, statement
|
 
|
or request, containing one or more specific and
|
 
|
direct charges showing incompetency or miscon-
|
 
|
duct on the part of the said treasurer, shall so
|
 
|
recommend, to consider, try and determine such
|

charges against the said treasurer, under such

the said Circuit Court may seem fit; and may
|

remove from office the said treasurer for incom-

petency or misconduct; and the said county com-

missioners shall immediately appoint some other

person to fill such vacancy for the residue of the

term; provided that nothing in this section shall

said treasurer (in his presence if he so elect), who

shall make report thereof to the said court or
