AN ACT to amend chapter fifty-four of the acts of
|
 
|
1872, entitled "An Act to exempt all that por-
|
 
|
tion of the waters of the Chesapeake Bay lying
|
 
|
northward of a certain line therein described from
|
 
|
the operation and effect of sections one and three
|
 
|
of article ninety eight of the Code of Public Gen-
|
 
|
eral Laws, title ' Wild Fowl,' and to enact other
|
 
|
sections to be in force and operation in, on and
|
 
|
over said waters, by adding an additional section
|
 
|
thereto regulating the issuing of licenses to Sneak
|
 
|
Boats.
|
 
|
SECTION 1. Be it enaded by the General Assem-
|
 
|
bly of Maryland, That the following section be and
|
 
|
the same is hereby added to chapter fifty-four of
|
 
|
the acts passed at the January session, eighteen hun-
|
 
|
dred and seventy-two, entitled " An act to exempt
|
 
|
all that portion of the waters of the Chesapeake
|

Public General Laws, title 'Wild Fowl,'" and to
|
 
|
enact other sections to be in force and operation in,

on and over said waters, to follow section eight, and
|
 
|
to read as follows:
|
 
|
SECTION 8 A. The sneak boat, such as is allowed
|

by this act, as is specified in section eight of this act,

shall be a flat-bottom batteau or other boat, with
|
 
|
bush or canvas blinds, and shall be engaged bona
|
 
|
fide in shooting or gunning over decoys, and no
|
 
|
other boat shall be licensed as a sneak boat .; no
|
 
|
Bailing boat or skiff', or other boat engaged in hunt-
|
 
|
ing or shooting crippled ducks, or in purloining
|
 
|
ducks that have been killed and are drilling, shall
|
 
|
be licensed as a sneak boat; and the special police
|
 
|
appointed by this act are authorized to arrest any
|
 
|
person or persons who may be discovered in the act
|
 
|
of hunting or shooting crippled ducks, or in pur-
