AN ACT to restrict, the shooting of the Wood or
|
|
|
Summer Duck, also known as the Acorn Duck,
|
|
|
and the Sora or Rail, known also as the Water
|
|
|
Rail, in the county of Talbot.
|
|
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Asset
|
|
|
bly of Maryland, That it shall be unlawful for any
|
|
|
person or persons to shoot, or shoot at, or to kill in
|
|
|
any manner, or have in possession in Talbot county
|

any wood or summer ducks, known also as the acorn

diick, or any sora or rail, known also as the water
|
|
|
rail, before the twentieth day of September in each
|
|
|
and every year.

|
SEC. 2. Be it enacted, That any person or persons
|
|
|
who shall violate any of the provisions of this act
|
|
|
shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon
|
|
|
conviction thereof before a justice of the peace in
|
|
|
said county, included within the provisions of this
|
|
|
act, shall be subject to a fine of not less than twenty-
|
|
|
five dollars nor more than fifty dollars, or imprison-

ment in the county jail mentioned, or both fine and
|
|
|
imprisonment in jail, in the discretion of the justice
|
|
|
of the peace having jurisdiction hereunder; and the
|
|
|
boat, gun or guns, apparatus and other appointments
|
|
|
in possession of or in use of such person or persons at
|
|
|
the time of said violation, shall be held until such fine
|
|
|
and the costs incident thereto be paid; one-half of
|
|
|
said fine shall go to the County Commissioners of the
|
|
|
county where the offence was committed for the use
|
|
|
of said county, and the other half to the informer.

SEC. 3. And e it enacted, That all acts or parts
|
|
|
of acts inconsistent with the provisions of this act
