Assembly of Maryland passed at January session,

 

eighteen hundred and seventy-two, and entitled

 

" An Act to amend the Act incorporating the West-

 

ern Maryland Railroad Company and to give addi-

 

tional powers to said company."

 

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That this act shall

Chapter 177.

 

AN ACT supplementary to chapter thirty-four of

 

the acts of the January session of the General

 

Assembly of eighteen hundred and fifty-four, and

 

to confirm an ordinance of the Mayor and City

 

Council of Baltimore, entitled "An ordinance

 

supplementary to an ordinance passed December

 

the twenty-seventh, eighteen hundred and fifty-

 

three,' entitled 'An ordinance to aid the Balti-

 

more and Ohio Railroad Company by a loan of

 

five millions of dollars to complete their road to

 

the city of Wheeling, fund their debts, and es-

 

pecially to lay a double track as far as Piedmont,

 

two hundred and eighteen miles from Baltimore,

 

and to confer upon the Mayor and City Council

 

and the Commissioners of Finance and the Reg-

 

ister of said city the powers necessary for carry-

 

ing into effect the provisions of said supplementary

 

ordinance.'"

 

WHEREAS there was enacted by the Mayor and

 

City Council of Baltimore an ordinance approved
