of the town of Union Bridge, in Carroll county, desire

|
that said limits be so extended as to embrace his, her
|
 
|
or their lands, the said person or persons shall ex-
|
 
|
press the same to the Mayor and Common Council
|
 
|
of the said town of Union Bridge, in Carroll county,
|
 
|
by petition, and if any of said land or lands is laid
|
 
|
off in lots, streets and alleys, a majority of those
|
 
|
persons owning said lots bounding on one or more
|
 
|
streets, may express by petition to the Mayor and
|

Common Council as aforesaid their desire to have
|
 
|
said lots, streets and alleys embraced in the corpo-
|
 
|
rate limits of the town aforesaid.
|
 
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That in the event of
|
 
|
such petition being made to the Mayor and Com-
|
 
|
mon Council of the town of Union Bridge, in Car-
|
 
|
roll county, as aforesaid, by any person or persons
|
 
|
as provided for in the above section, then and in that
|
 
|
case the said Mayor and Common Council shall sub-
|

mit the matter as expressed in the petition to the
|
the qualified
voters.

qualified voters of said town of Union Bridge, hav-
|
 
|
ing given at least ten days' notice of said election.
|
 
|
When if it shall appear that a majority of the legal
|
 
|
and qualified voters voting at said election are in
|
 
|
favor of so extending the limits of the said town of
|
 
|
Union Bridge so as to take into the corporate bounds
|
 
|
thereof the land or lands so petitioned for as above
|
 
|
provided, then the Mayor and Common Council of
|
 
|
said town of Union Bridge shall cause a survey and
|

plot of said lands, lots, streets and alleys to be made,
|

and shall have the same recorded in the office of the
|
 
|
clerk of the Circuit Court for Carroll county as an
|
 
|
addition to the corporate limits of said town, and the
|
 
|
said lands, lots, streets and alleys, and the inhabi-
|
 
|
tants thereof so embraced within the corporate limits
|
 
|
of said town shall be subject to all the laws and or-
|
 
|
dinances given said town.
|
 
|
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall
