Chapter 111.

AN ACT to compel the Citizens Railway Com-
|
 
|
pany of Baltimore city to comply with the re-
|
 
|
quirements of their Charter.
|
 
|
WHEREAS by an act passed by the General As-
|
 
|
sembly of Maryland at the January session of 1876,
|
 
|
chapter 118, entitled " An Act supplementary to an
|
 
|
act, entitled ' An Act to incorporate the Citizens Rail-
|
 
|
way company of Baltimore city,' " passed at the Jan-
|
 
|
uary session, 1870, it is provided that the said com-
|
 
|
pany shall, from and after the passage of this act,
|

run all its cars through from one terminus of the

road to the other; and whereas the said company,
|
 
|
in direct violation of this provision of its charter,
|
 
|
runs its cars from the eastern terminus of its road
|
 
|
to the central part of the city, and thence returns
|
 
|
to the eastern terminus; and from the western termi-
|
 
|
nus of its road to the central part of the city, and
|
 
|
thence returns to the western terminus, thus com-
|
 
|
pelling all its through passengers to transfer from
|
 
|
one car to another; therefore —
|
 
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
|
 
|
bly of Maryland, That the Citizens Railway com-
|
 
|
pany of Baltimore city shall, from and after the
|
 
|
passage of this act, run all its cars through from one
|

SEC. 2. Be it enacted, That should said company
|
 
|
continue, after the expiration of ninety days from the
|
 
|
passage of this act, to run its cars in violation of the
|
 
|
above mentioned provisions of its charter, it shall
|
 
|
be the duty of the Governor of the State, where in-
|
 
|
