The Clerk of the House of Delegates appeared, and de-
livered the following message :

BY THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES,

January 21, 1876.

Gentlemen of the Senate :

We have received your message proposing the appoint-
ment of a Joint Special Committee, of two on the part of
the Senate, and three on the part of the House, to visit the
Deaf and Dumb Asylum at Frederick, the House of Refor-
mation and Instruction for Colored Children at Cheltenham,
Prince George's county, and examine into the condition of
those Institutions, and report by bill or otherwise, and we
concur therein.

We have appointed on the part of the House, Messrs.
Snowden, Gordy and Bird.

MILTON Y. KIDD,

Chief Clerk.
Also,

Senate bill entitled an Act to authorize the Court of Ap-
peals to hear the appeal of the Mayor and City Council of
Baltimore, and James M. Anderson, Collector against the
Grand Lodge of Independent Order of Odd-Fellows, in re-
lation to the opening of Lexington street.

Endorsed passed by yeas and nays.

Also,

Senate bill entitled an Act to authorize and direct the
Governor to convey a portion of the State Hay Scales Lot,
in the City of Baltimore, to the Mayor and City Council of
Baltimore.

Endorsed passed by yeas and nays.

Also,

House bill entitled an Act for the incorporation of the
Grand Lodge of the United States of the Independent Order
of Odd-Fellows.

Which was read the first time and referred to the Com-
mittee on Corporations.

Also,

House bill entitled an Act to authorize the Commissioners
of Crisfield to permit the extension of Marine Railways into
the harbor of Crisfield.

Which was read the first time and referred to Messrs.
Dennis, Steiner and Humphreys.
