NIGHT SESSION.

SATURDAY, April 1, 1870.
Senate met at 8 P. M.

Present at the roll call the following Senators:
Messrs. President, Aydelotte, Cooper, Freeman, Ford,
Getty, Gorman, Humphreys, Knight, Lloyd, McCulloh, New-
comer, Stevens, Steiner, Walsh—15

Mr. Lloyd submitted the following message:

BY THE SENATE,
April, 1, 1876.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates:

As the present Session of the General Assembly will ter-
minate by Constitutional Limitation, on Monday, April 3rd,
midnight, me propose that a Joint Committee to be com-
posed of two Members of the Senate and three of the House,
be appointed to wait upon his Excellency, the Governor, for
the purpose of communicating the fact, and ascertaining
whether he has any further communications to make.

We have appointed on the part of the Senate, Messrs.
Lloyd and Steiner.

AUGUSTUS GASSAWAY,

Secretary.

Which was read, assented to, and sent to the House of
Delegates.

The Clerk of the House of Delegates appeared and deliv-
ered the following message :

BY THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES,

April 1, 1876.
Gentlemen of the Senate :

We have received your message asking a Committee of
Conference, in relation to House bill entitled an Act, relat-
ing to "Landlord and Tenant," and respectfully inform you
that we have appointed on the part of the House, Messrs.
Bird, Robinson and Mattingly.
