At 1.30 P. M., Mr. Joyce moved a call of the Senate.

The Sergeant-at-Arms was directed to inform absent Sena-
tors their presence was required in the Senate Chamber.

At 1.35, P. M.,

On motion by Mr. Joyce,

Further proceedings under the call were dispensed with.

said bill was then read the third time and rejected, for want
of a Constitutional majority, by yeas and nays as follows:

NEGATIVE.

Lawrence,

On motion by Stevens,

The vote by which said bill failed to receive a Constitu-
tional majority,

Was reconsidered, and

On motion by Mr. Stevens,
Said bill was ordered to lie over informally.
Mr. Stevens, from the Committee on Judicial Proceedings,
(by unanimous consent,) reported favorably the following
bills.

First. House bill entitled an Act to make valid the bequest
of Elizabeth Stansbury to the Trustees of the Reformed
Church of Westminister, in Carroll county.

Second. House bill emitted an Act to authorize and direct
the Attorney General to institute proceedings to forfeit the
charter of the Gwynns' Falls Bridge Company of the Wash-
ington Road.

Which were read the second time.

Mr. Walsh, from the Committee on Finance, (rules sus-
pended) reported favorably the following bills:

First. House bill entitled an Act for the promotion of Ag-
riculture and the Mechanical and Household arts in Harford,
Kent and Howard counties.
