Senate for further consideration the House bill entitled an
Act, granting to certain soldiers and widows of soliders of
the war of 1812, a pension.

By order,

Secretary.

Which was read, assented to, and sent to the House of
Delegates.

Mr. Gorman, from Committee on Finance, (by unanimous
consent,) reported favorably,

House bill entitled an Act to appropriate a sum of money
to pay the claims of Edward Powers, John Murphy & Co.,
Kelley, Piet & Co., Isaac D. Jones, Daniel Caulk, Wm. J.
Read and James S. Franklin.

With the following proposed amendments:

Insert in title "Thomas J. Osborne."

Which was adopted.

Insert at end of Sec. 1, "toT. J. Osborne for balance due for
paving cattle pens as per contract $1550, under the opinion
of the Attorney General."

Which was adopted.

Insert in title "Isaac M. Denson, John S. Tracy, Charles
Stinchcumb and William Kirby."|

Which was adopted.

Insert at end of Sec. 1, "to Isaac M. Denson, due for ma-
terials furnished bv order of the Weighmaster of Live Stock
$1,250.20."

"To John S. Tracy i'or amount due him as per certificate
of the Comptroller for taxes paid in error, f 16.06."

"To Charles Stinchcumb, policeman, $5.00 for services at
Governor Groome's inauguration."

"To Wm. Kirby, policeman, $5.00 for services at Gover-
nor Groome's inauguration."

Which were adopted.

Said bill, as amended, was then read the second time.

The Senate proceeded again to the consideration of the

House bill to approate a sum of money to pay the claims
of John T. Wiggins, Daniel Caulk, Henry M. Tirally, Jas.
E. Tate, Richard Tydings, John H. Handy, David Leonard,
George McLaughlin, Moses W. Cornish, Medairy & Bowers
and Wm. T. Markland & Bro.

Which had been ordered to lie over informally.

Mr. Suit withdrew the amendment heretofore submitted by
him.
