signed cannot concur in any suggestion for legislation as
made by the majority of the Committee. He would also
state, that in regard to the examination of the accounts of
the Canal Company, the conclusion arrived at in the report
of the majority was necessarily deduced from an examination
of certain accounts and vouchers taken at random, the time
at the disposal of the Committee not being sufficient for an
exhaustive and thorough investigation of all the accounts and
vouchers of the Company.

Mr. Stevens moved that the report of the majority of the
Committee be adopted.

The following Senate bills having passed both branches of
the General Assembly of Maryland, were this day presented
to his Excellency, the Governor, for his approval :

No. 196. An Act to incorporate the National Railroad
Company of Maryland.

No. 197. An Act to refund taxes on oyster-house licenses,
to Hugh B. Valliant, F. F. Avalier, Jesse H. T. Hubbard,
Samuel Norris, Tilghman H. Hubbard, William Grace, Mi-
chael Hartnett, Mrs. Margaret Zeigler and T. T. Martin, of
Talbot county, erroneously paid to the State.

No. 198. An Act supplementary to an Act to designate
the arbitrators to ascertain and fix the boundary between the
States of Virginia and Maryland, approved April the 11th,
1874.

No. 199. An Act to refund to the Vestry of St. Michael's
Parish, Talbot county, a sum of money erroneously paid into
the Treasury.

No. 200. An Act to refund to Alicia Winder, of Talbot
