Mr. Fields, (Mr. Walsh in the Chair,) moved to adjourn.
Which was decided in the negative by yeas and nays as
follows:

AFFIRMATIVE.

Messrs. President, Joyce,
Brewer, Newcomer,
Humphreys, Suit—6.

NEGATIVE.

Messrs. Bannon, Lawrence,
Cooper, Lloyd,
Duke, McCulloh,
Dennis, Mudd,
Freeman, Phelps,
Ford, Stevens,
Getty, Steiner,
Gorman, Walsh—17.
Lee,

At 1.15, Mr. Fields moved a call of the Senate.
The Sergeant-at-Arms was directed to inform absent Sena-
tors their presence was required in the Senate Chamber.
At 1.20, P. M.,

On motion by Mr. Gorman,

Further proceedings under the call were dispensed with.
The President announced the half hour expired, to which
the order of the day had been postponed.

Mr. Bannon moved to further postpone the order of the
day for a half hour.

Which was determined in the affirmative.
Said bill was then read the third time and rejected for want
of a Constitutional majority by yeas and nays as follows:
