Said bill was then returned to the House of Delegates.

Mr. Stevens, from the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings, (by unanimous consent,) reported favorably,

House bill entitled an Act to regulate the sale of seats in
theatres, concerts or lecture halls, and other places of public
entertainment.

Which was read the second time.

OFFICE SECRETARY OF THE SENATE,

Annapolis, March 27th, 1876.

The following Senate bills having passed both branches of
the General Assembly of Maryland, were this day presented
to his Excellency, the Governor, for his approval :

No. 158. An Act to add additional sub-Sections to Art. 19,
of the Public Local Laws of Somerset county, title "License,"
and sub-title "Retailers."

No. 173. An Act regulating the working and proper ven-
tilation of coal mines in Allegany and Garrett counties, and
providing for the appointment of an Inspector for said mines.

No 174. An Act to pay and compensate D. James Black-
iston for services rendered in the United States Court, in de-
fence of Officers of Registration, and presented therein for
violation as alleged, of the Act of Congress, entitled "An
Act to enforce the rights of citizens of the United States to
vote in the several States of the Union, and for other pur-
poses."

No. 175. An Act to incorporate the Purchasers of the
Queen Anne's and Kent County Railroad Company.

No. 176. An Act to provide for cleaning out the Harbor and
Basin and Docks of the City of Baltimore, and lor the per-
manent removal of the causes whereby the waters of the said
Harbor and Basin have been polluted, and to authorize the
Mayor and City Council of Baltimore, to issue bonds to the
