On motion by Mr. Gorman,

The Senate at 11 P. M., adjourned.

TUESDAY, March 28th, 1876.

Senate met at 11 o'clock A. M.

Prayer by the Rev. Mr. Ide.

Present at roll call the following Senators :

Messrs. President, Aydelctte, Bannon, Brewer, Cooper,
Duke, Dennis, Freeman, Ford, Getty, Gorman, Hepbron,
Humphreys, Joyce, Knight, Lee, Lawrence, Lloyd, McCul-
loh, Mudd, Newcomer, Phelps, Stevens, Steiner, Suit,
Walsh—26.

Proceedings of yesterday read and approved.

The Clerk of the House of Delegates appeared and delivered
the following bills:

House bill entitled an Act to repeal chapter 231, of the
Acts of 1874, entitled an Act to regulate the Commissions
to be allowed Clerks of Courts for collecting and paying over
to the Treasury public money, and to re-enact the same with
amendments.

Which was read the first time and referred to the Commit-
tee on Finance.

House bill entitled an Act to repeal chapter 276, of the
Acts of 1874, relating to Kent Narrows, and all preceding
Acts relating thereto, and to re-enact as follows.

Which was read the first time and referred to Messrs.
Lloyd, Ford and Dennis.

Honse bill entitled an Act to appropriate a sum of money to

pay the claims of John F. Wiggins, Daniel Caulk, Henry
M. Tiralla, James E. Tate, Richard Tydings, John H. Handy,
David Leonard, George McLaughlin, Moses W, Cornish,
Medairy & Bowers, and William T. Markland & Brother.

Which was read the first time and referred to the Commit-
tee on Finance.
