Charles S. Sewell, J. A. Cunningham, and other citizens of
Harford county, protesting against the forfeiture of the char-
ter of the Baltimore and Havre-de-Grace Turnpike Company.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Corpo-
rations.

Mr. Knight presented the memorial of Sarah A. Myers,
asking for a pension.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Pensions.

Mr. Duke presented the memorial of certain citizens of
Calvert county, praying for the protection of fish in the Pa-
tuxent river.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on the
Chesapeake Bay and its Tributaries

Mr. Lloyd presented the memorial of Bishop Lay and nu-
merous citizens of Talbot county, protesting against the tax-
ation of Churches.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Finance.

Mr. Walsh, from the Committee on Finance, reported fa-
vorably,

Senate bill entitled an Act to pay to John W. Temple,
Clerk of the Circuit Court for Caroline county, the sum of
$101.60, for fees due him by the State, in the cases of the
State vs. Thomas H. Kemp and George McKeigler.

Which was read the first time.

Mr. McCulloh, from the Committee on Corporations, re-
ported favorably, the following bills :

House bill entitled an Act to add an additional Section, to
be numbered 220, to Art 26, of the Code of Public General
Laws, title "Corporations," as enacted by ch. 471 of the
Acts of 1868.

House bill entitled an Act to repeal Section 4 of ch. 274,
of the Acts of 1860, entitled an Act to incorporate the Balti-
more and Liberty Turnpike Company, and to enact a substi-
tute therefor.

Which were read the second time
Mr. Ford, from Committee on Library, reported favorably,

House bill entitled an Act to authorize the State Librarian
to supply to the Librarian of Congress, and the Library
Company of the Baltimore Bar, such copies of the Reports,
Laws, Journals and Documents of the State of Maryland, of
which he may have duplicates as can be spared from the
State Library, not to exceed in any case two copies of such
volume,

With the following proposed amendment:
