draw his warrant on the Treasurer for a sum sufficient to re-
imburse Sprigg Harwood for money erroneonsly paid into the
State Treasury, and to direct said Sprigg Harwood to pay
the same when so re-imbnrsed to the County School Com-
missioners for Anne Arundel county.
Which was read the second time.
Also, without advice,

Senate bill entitled an Act to appropriate a sum of money
to defray the expenses of Charles R. Harman whilst under
arrest for alleged violation of the enforcement Act,
Which was read the second time.
The question being upon the engrossment of said bill,
It was decided in the affirmative by yeas and nays as fol-
lows:

AFFIRMATIVE.

Messrs. President, Hepbron,
Aydelotte, Lee,
Bannon, McCulloh,
Cooper, Phelps,
Ford, Stevens—10.

NEGATIVE.

Messrs. Brewer, Lawrence,
Duke, Lloyd,
Dennis, Newcomer,
Freeman, Steiner—8.

Also, unfavorably,

House Joint Resolutions in relation to the moving paint-
ings from the Senate Chamber to the Centennial Exposition
at Philadelphia.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Ford, from Committee on Corporations, reported fa-
vorably,

House bill entitled an Act to to consolidate the Kent
Ceunty Railroad Company, with the Smyrna and Delaware
Bay Railroad Company, and to convey the franchises of said
first named Company when sold to the purchasers thereof,
and to incorporate the same into a body politic.

Which was read the second time.

Mr. Stevens, from Select Committee, reported favorably,

House bill entitled an Act to authorize the Mayor and
City Council of Baltimore, to issue city stock for the purpose
of redeeming the five million loan known as the Baltimore
Water Stock, redeemable at pleasure, on and after the first
day of May, 1875, and to provide for the payment of all taxes
State, Federal or otherwise, to which said stock or the in-
