Senate bill entitled an Act to incorporate the National
Railroad Company of Maryland.

Endorsed : "Passed by yeas and nays."

Also,

Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal chapter 476 of the
Acts of 1870, entitled and Act to provide for the creation and
regulation of incorporated Companies in the State of Mary-
land, and enact a substitute therefor.

Endorsed: "Passed by yeas and nays, with proposed
amendments."

AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.

Section 3, line 3, after the word "constructing," insert
the words "or operating."

Section 11, line 27, alter the word "attendance," insert
"as shall make up twenty."

Sec. 21, line 8, strike out the word "be," and insert "it".

Ordered, The Senator from Wicomico have leave of ab-
sence until Tuesday next.
Mr. Stevens submitted the following:
Ordered, That the Chairman of the Committee on Claims
pay to Seymour Cooper the sum of ninty-eight dollars, in
full for engrossing two copies of the Resolutions and framing
the same upon the death of the Hon. Reverdy Johnson.

Mr, Phelps moved to refer said order to the Committee on
Finance.
Which was rejected.
