the said harbor and basin have been polluted, and to author-
ize the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore, to issue bonds
to the amount of one million dollars, to defray the expenses
of said work.

Senate bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Purchasers
of the Queen Anne's and Kent County Railroad Company.

Senate bill entitled an Act to pay and compensate D. Jas.
Blackiston for services in the United States Court, in defence
of Officers of Registration, and presented therein tor violation
as alleged, of the Enforcement Act.

Endoised severally : "Passed by yeas und nays."

Also, delivered,

House Joint Resolutions in relation to the removal of
Paintings to the Centennial Exposition at Philadelphia.

Which were read the first time and reierred to the Commit-
tee on Finance.

OFFICE OF THE SECRETARY OF THE SENATE,

Annapolis, 22nd March, 1870.

The following Senate bills having passed both branches ot
the General Assembly of Maryland, were this day presented
to bis Excellency, the Governor, for his approval :

No. 115 An Act granting additional powers to the Po-
tomac Fire Insurance Company of Baltimore.

No. 116. An Act supplement to an Act passed at Jauuary
Session, 1852, entitled an Act to incorporate the Santa Clara
Mining Association of Baltimore, authorizing said Associa-
tion to make and enforce payment of all calls, or assessments
upon its capital stock heretofore made, or hereafter to be
made.

No. 117. An Act to appoint an additional Justice of the
Peace for the State of Maryland, in and for Somerset county,
and in the Eighth Election Distict.

No. 118. An Act supplementary to an Act to incorporate
the Citizens' Railway Company of Baltimore city, passed at
the January Session, 1870.

No. 119. An Act to appropriate a sum of money to pay
the claims of divers editors of newspapers in the State of
Maryland, for publishing the Aet entitled an Act to amend
Section 8, of Article 4, of the Constitution of the State of
Maryland, passed at January Session, 1874, authorized and
directed by the Governor, under the provisions of Section 1,
Article 14, of the Constitution and Proclamation of the Gov-
ernor, announcing the adoption of the amendment by the
people.

No. 137. An Aet to repeal Section 2, chapter 99, passed
