House bill entitled an Act to repeal and re-enact with
amendments, Article 89, of the Code of Public General Laws,
title "Slander," to enable married women to maintain ac-
tions for words spoken maliciously touching their character
or reputation for chastity, and tending to the injury thereof.

Mr. Duke moved to substitute said bill for the unfavorable
report.

Which was determined in the negative.

The question recurring upon the adoption of the unfavora-
ble report.

It was adopted.

Mr. Brewer from the Committee on Agriculture, reported
unfavorably,

House bill entitled an Act to add additional Sections to
Article 19, of the Code of Public Local Laws, title "Somer-
set County,"sub-title,"Fences," to be known as Section 53 to
57, inclusive.

Which was adopted.

Also, favorably,

House bill entitled an Act to repeal Sections 82, 83,84 and
85 of the Public Local Laws of Caroline county, sub-title
"Fences," so far as it relates to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Dis-
tricts.

With the following proposed amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Strike out "second" and "third" wherever it occurs in the
bill.

Which was adopted.

Said bill as amended was then read the second time.

Mr. McCulloh, from Committee on Corporations, reported
favorably the following bills:

Senate bill entitled an Act to regulate the charges upon
Railroad Companies in the State of Maryland.

Senate bill entitled an Act to incorporate "The Proprietors
of The Mount Vernon Cemetery of Maryland."

Which were read the first time.

Also, favorably,

House bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Maryland
Tubing Transportation Company, with the following pro-
