ings to introduce a bill entitled an Act to provide for the
more perfect registration of marriages, births and deaths in
the State of Maryland.

On motion by Mr. Hepbron,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Finance to intro-
duce a bill to refund to Win. Hepbron, State Collector of 4th
District of Kent county, moneys paid in error to the Comp-
troller of the Treasury.

On motion by Mr. McCulloh,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to
introduce a bill to amend the Act, passed at the present Ses-
sion of the General Assembly, entitled an Act to repeal and
re-enact with amendment the Act of 1868, chapter 334, en-
titled an Act to incorporate the Cumberland and Pennsyl-
vania Railroad Company.

Mi. Ford from the Committee on Corporations, reported
favorably,

Senate bill entitled an Act to incorporate the purchaser or
purchasers of the Kent County Railroad Company, into a
new body politic, under the name of the Kent County Rail-
road Company, or such other as they may adopt and to allow
the same to be consolidated with the Smyrna and Delaware
Bay Railroad Company, and to incorporate the said company
when so consolidated.

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Humphreys, from Committee on Corporations, report-
ed favorably.

Senate bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Savage Man-
ufacturing Company of Howard County, Maryland,

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Stevens, from Committee on Judicial Proceedings, re-
ported unfavorably the following bills:

Senate bill entitled an Act to add an additional Section to
Article 45, of the Code of Public General Laws, entitled
"Husband and Wife," relating to Dower.

Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal Sections 13 and 31, of
Article 10 of the Code of Public General Laws of Maryland,
relating to Attachments, and to re-enact the same with amend-
ments.

Senate bill entitled an Act to amend Article 30, of the
Code of Public General Laws, by inserting therein certain
Sections for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

House bill entitled an Act to add a Section to Article 69,
of the Code of Public General Laws, entitled "Officers,"
to enable parties injured by tortious Acts of "Sheriffs and
