212, of Art. 4, of the Public Local Laws of the State of Mary-
land, relating to the City of Baltimore, sub-title "Elec-
tions, "and to re-enact Sections 205, 206 and 212, with amend-
ments,

Was read the third time, and rejected for want of a Consti-
tutional majority, by yeas and nays as follows:

NEGATIVE.

On motion by Mr. Goruian,

The vote by which said bill failed to receive a Constitutional
majority was reconsidered.

Senate hill entitled an Act to repeal ch. 406 of the Acts of
1870, entitled an Act to distribute the Academic and High
School Fund of Carroll county, to the Western Maryland
College and Manchester Academy, in Carroll county, and to
enact a substitute therefor,

Was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

Senate bill entitled an Act to authorize and empower the
County Commissioners of Harford county, to refund to the
executor of Edward Painter, late of said county, taxes paid
in error,

Was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal Sec. 56 of an Act
passed at the January Session, 1866, title "Kent County,"
sub-title "Chestertown," and to re-enact the same with
amendments.

Being upon its second reading,

Mr. Hepbron submitted the following amendment:
AMENDMENT PBOPOSED.

Fill the blank with "four hundred."

Which was adopted.

Said bill as amended, was then read a second time and or-
dered to be engrossed for a third reading.
