Proceedings of yesterday read and approved.

Mr. Ford presented the memorial of R. Hopper Smith and
40 others, citizens of Queen Anne's county, protesting against
the passage of a law prohibiting gilling seines in the waters
of Chester river.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Chesa-
peake Bay and its Tributaries.

On motion by Mr. Stevens3 it was

Ordered, That on and after Tuesday next, March 2lst, the
Senate meet at 11 o'clock, A. M.; and be it further ordered,
that at the night sessions, all bills, general and local, be con-
sidered, until otherwise ordered.

Mr. Cooper submitted the following:

Ordered, That when the Senate adjourn to-day, it stand
adjourned until Monday morning at 12 o'clock, M.
Which was adopted by yeas and nays as follows:

On motion by Mr. Stevens,

Ordered, That the Secretary be directed to return to the
House of Delegates the House bill in relation to the appro-
priation for the celebration of the Centennial.

On motion by Mr. Lee,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Finance to intro-
duce a bill to repeal the Act of 1870, chap. 466, relating to
the distribution of the Academic fund in Carroll county, and
to re-enact the same with amendments.

On motion by Mr. Aydelotte,

Leave was granted to the Worcester, Somerset and Wicomico
delegations to introduce a bill to repeal Section 30 of Article
28 of the Code Supplement of 1868, Public General Laws, as
enacted by Section 3 of chapter 29, of the Acts of the General
Assembly of Maryland, passed at the January Session, 1868,
so far as the said Section relates to Worcester county, and to
re-enact the same with amendments, to apply only to Wor-
cester county.
