Which was read the first time and referred to the Commit-
tee on Agriculture,

House bill entitled an Act to change the name of Glenville,
in Prince George's county, to Glendale.

Which was read the first time and referred to Messrs.
Suit, Steioer and Mudd.

House bill entitled an Act to repeal and re-enact with
amendments Section 5 of Article 13 of the Code of Public
General Laws, title "Bastardy and Fornication," and, also,
to add additional Sections to said Article.

Which was read the first time and referred to the Commit-
tee on Judicial Proceedings.

House bill entitled an Act to authorize the Comptroller to
draw his warrant on the Treasurer for a sum sufficient to re-
imburse Sprigg Harwood, for money erroneously paid into
the State Treasury, and to direct said Sprigg Harwood to
pay the same, when so re-imbursed, to the County School
Commissioners for Anne Arundel county.

Which was read the first time and referred to the Commit-
tee on Finance.

House bill entitled an Act to provide for maintaining and
keeping in repair the public roads in Dochester county.

Which was read the first time and referred to Messrs.
Phelps, Aydelotte and Gorman.

Also, returned,

Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal Section 2 of chapter
99 of the Acts of 1874, and to re-enaefc the same with
amendments.

Endorsed, "Passed by yeas and nays."

Also,

Senate bill entitled an Act to appoint an additional Justice
of the Peace for the Eighth Election District of Somerset
county.

Endorsed, "Passed by yeas and nays."

Senate Joint Resolutions in relation to the improvement of
the navigation of the Upper Potomac, Eastern Branch and
Patapsco river.

Being upon their second reading,

Mr, Lawrence submitted the following amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

At the end of last Resolution, add: "And also for deepening
the harbor at Leonardtown, St. Mary's county, in accordance
with surveys and estimates already made by the United
States Government."

Which was rejected.
