3rd. Of Ruth Conway and 56 other ladies of the 5th Elec-
tion District of Carroll county.

Which were severally read and referred to the Committee
on Finance.

Mr. Walsh presented the following memorials:

1st. Of the regent and lady managers of the Mount Ver-
non Association, praying for a donation from the State,for-
the purpose of protecting, preserving and adorning the favor-
ite home, and last resting place of George Washington.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Fi-
nance.

2nd. Of Dr. G. T. Hays and others, citizens of Harford
county, praying that the Public School Law be so amended
as to give the choice of County School Commissioners direct-
ly to the people.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Educa-
tion.

3rd. Of James B. Gallion, William B. Stephenson, Wm.
Stephenson, jr. and 79 other citizens of the 2nd Election
District of Harford county, praying the passage of a Local
Option Law.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Fi-
nance.

Mr. Cooper presented the memorial of Edward Spedden,
Levin Jones, J. A. North and 35 others, voters of Baltimore
city, and 55 ladies of Baltimore city, praying the passage of
a Local Option Law.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Finance.

Mr. Aydelotte presented the memorial of certain citizens of
Worcester county, praying the passage of an Act authoriz-
ing the County Commissioners of said county, to buy the
stock of the Pocomoke Bridge Company.

Which was read and referred to Messrs. Aydelotte, Den-
nis and Humphreys.

On motion by Mr. Ford,

Leave was granted to Messrs. Ford, Getty and Lawrence,
to introduce a bill to authorize the County Commissioners, of
Queen Anne's county, to pay Solomon Tate a pension of thir-
ty dollars a year, for two years—1876 and 1877.

Mr. Humphreys submitted the following message:

BY THE SENATE,

Annapolis, March 16th, 1876.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates :

We have received Senate bill entitled "an Act authorizing
and directing the State Librarian, to furnish from the State
Library, for the use of the Circuit Court for Wicomico county,
