452 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Mar. 10,

Mr. Phelps presented the memorial of 80 citizens of Dor-
chester county, in opposition to the Cambridge, and Chesa-
peake Railroad.

Which was read and icferred to Messrs. Phelps, Ayde-
lotte and Cooper.

Mr. Cooper presented the following memorials:

Memorial of 7,500 citizens of Baltimore, praying a repeal
of the Sunday Barber Law,

And,

Similar memorial of C. Seippel, John G. Gance, and other
citizens of Baltimore city.

Which were read and referred to the Baltimore city Sena-
tors.

Mr. McCulloh presented the memorial of R, R. Sauner and
56 others, citizens of Allegany county, protesting against the
passage of the bill restricting the operations of Building Asso-
ciations in this State.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Finance.
On motion by Mr. Steiner,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations, to
introduce a bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Washing-
ton city and Atlantic Coast Railroad Company.
On motion by Mr. Walsh,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations, to
introduce a bill to repeal chapter 163, of the Session, 1866,
entitled "an Act to incorporate the Trustees of the Methodist
Episcopal Church in Federalsburg, in Caroline county," and
to enact a substitute in lieu thereof.
On motion by Stevens,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings, to introduce a bill entitled "an Act to authorize the
Protestant Infant Asylum of Baltimore city," to bind out
and control the children under its care.
On motion by Mr. Suit,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings, to introduce a bill entitled an Act to add an additional
Section to the Code of Public General Laws, Article 30, title
"Crimes and Punishments," sub-title "Witnesses."
Oa motion by Mr. Lloyd,

Leave was granted to Messrs. Lloyd, Walsh and McCulloh,
to introduce a bill to enable the qualified voters of Caroline
county, to determine by ballot whether or not license shall
be granted to sell spirituous or fermented liquors in said
county.
