On motion by Mr. Bannon,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Finance, to intro-
ducea bill for the relief of the securities of EdwinW. Duvall.
Also, by Mr. Bannon,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations, to
introduce a bill to incorporate the Cumberland and Savage
Biver Slack-Water Canal and Railroad Company.

Mr. Steiner submitted the following

JOINT RESOLUTIONS.

WHEREAS, It has been represented to this General Assembly
that the Maryland Historical Society has on its shelves only
the following of the official publications of the State of Mary-
land, viz:

Laws of Maryland for 1727, 1768, 1787,1777-81,1781-84,
1785-90,1822,1824,1829,1811-2,1842-3,1844, 1849, 1852,
1853, 1854, 1860, 1861

Dorsey's Laws of Maryland, 3 volumes.

Convention of 17.74-'5-'6.

Convention of 1850-'1.

Convention of 1864.

Debates of Convention 1850-'1.

Proceedings of Convention 1867.

Proceedings of General Assembly for 1813, 1814, 1815,
1816, 1817, 1818, 1823, 1824,1828, 1829, 1831,1832, 1833.

Journal of House of Delegates for 1825, 1836, 1837, 1841,
1844, 1850, 1852, 1853, 1854, 1860.

Documents of House of Delegates for 1837, 1838, 1839,
1841, 1844, 1847, 1849, 1860, 1861.

Journal of Senate for 1811 to 1820, 1825,1826,1827,1830,
1831, 1833, 1834, 1835, 1836, (May Session,) 1836, (Decem-

And whereas, It is very proper that a Public Institution
of such a character should be supplied with a complete set of
all the official publications of the State ; therefore,

Be it Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the State Librarian be authorized and directed to furnish to
said Maiyland Historical Society, such of the official publica-
tions of this State as are needed to complete its collection ;
provided, extra copies of the same are now in the State Li-
brary, and that he shall also furnish to the said Society here--
after, from time to time, as they may be printed, a copy of
each of said official publications of the State.
