The President announced the unfinished business of yester-
day to be the

Senate bill entitled an Act to provide for the general valua-
tion and assessment of property in this State.

The amendment heretofore offered by Mr. Dennis being
under consideration,

Mr. Dennis submitted the following in place of said amend-
ment,

Which was accepted in lieu of his amendment by Mr.
Brewer:

Strike out after the word "mortgages," in line 13, Section
1, to the words "and all," in 14 line, and insert 'which are
collateral security for the payment of some debt or monied
obligation."

Mr. Knight, at 12.30 P. M,, moved a call of the Senate.
The Sergeant-at-Arms was directed to inform the absent
Senators that their presence was required in the Senate
Chamber.

Further proceedings under the call weie dispensed with.
Mr. Bannon moved to recommit said bill to the Committee
on Finance.
