412 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Mar. 8,

House bill entitled an Act to authorize the Liberty and
New Windfcor Turnpike Company, in Frederick and Carroll
counties, to issue its bonds to aid in the construction of its
road, and to secure the same by mortgage.

House bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Baltimore
County Gaslight Company.

Which were read the second time.

Also, favorably,

Senate bill entitled an Act to amend the charter of the
Citizens Security and Land Company, of Baltimore city, by
enlarging its powers.

Which was read the first time

Mr. Steiner, from the Committee on Invalid Deeds and
Defective Proceedings, reported favorably,

House bill entitled an Act to make valid the Acts of the
Commissioners appointed by the Act of 1840, chapter 219,
and to confirm the ptoceedings of said Commissioners,

Which was read the second time.

Mr. Stevens, from the Committee on Judicial Proceedings,

reported the following bills :

House bill entitled an Act to authoiize and require the
Attorney General to institute proceedings to forfeit the char-
ter of the Peoples Gas Company, of Baltimore.

House bill entitled an Act to authorize and require the
Attorney General to institute proceedings to fotfeit the char-
ter of the Gaslight Company, of Baltimore.

On motion by Mr. Stevens,

The said Committee were discharged from the in the con-
sideration of said bills.

On motion by Mr. Bannon,

Said bills were referred to the Committee on Corporation,
and ordered to be printed.

Also, by Mr. Stevens, favorably the folllowing bills.

House bill entitled an Act tj repeal Sections 1 and 2, chap-
ter 401 of the Acts of 1874, relating to "Courts," in the
City of Baltimore, substituting others in lieu thereof, and to
re-enact the same with amendments.

House bill entitled an Act granting the sanction of the
General Assembly to the bequest in the last will and testa-
ment of Christian Shelter, late of Washington county, de-

ceased, to the Deacons of the Tunker or Baptist Church at

the Broad Fording in said county.
Which were read the second time.
