House bill entitled an Act to appropriate the sums of
money therein mentioned to pay the claims of George W.
Murdock, J, W. Kalmey, J. Seth Hopkins & Co., Henry
W. Jenkins & Son, Samuel Stewart, George Lieter and J.
E. Hayden.

Which was read the first time and referred to the Com-
mittee on Finance.

House bill entitled an Act to commute the term of impris-
onment of such prisoners in the Maryland Penitentiary as
shall be found worthy.

Which was read the first time and referred to the Com-
mittee on Judicial Proceedings.

Also, returned,

Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal Section 7 of Article
57 of the Code of Public General Laws, title "Limitation of
Actions," and to re-enact the same with amendments.

Endorsed: "passed by yeas and nays."
On motion by Mr. Steiner,

The Senate at 2.30 P. M., adjourned.

TUESDAY, March 7th, 1876.

Senate met at 11 A. M.

Prayer by the Rev. Mr. Ide.

Present at roll call the following Senatois:

Messrs. President, Aydelotte, Bannon, Brewer, Cooper,
Duke, Dennis, Freeman, Ford, Getty, German, Hepbron.
Humphreys, Joyce, Knight, Lee, Lawrence, Lloyd, McCul-
loh, Newcomer, Stevens, Steiner, Suit, Walsh—24.

Proceedings of yesterday read and approved.

Mr. Brewer presented the memorial of F. P. Blair and 33
others, citizens of Montgomery and Prince George's counties,
praying the passage of an Act authorizing the building of a
bridge over the North West Branch.

Which was read and referred to Messrs. Brewer, Knight
and Suit.

Mr. Lloyd presented the memorial of 25 citizens of Talbot
county, praying an exemption of $500 in the execution of the
law on personal property.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Finance.
