Senate bill entitled an Act to divide the 2d Election Dis-
trict of St. Mary's county.

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Humphreys, from a Select Committee,' reported unfa-
vorably,

On the memorial of Joshua P. Bennett, praying the pas-
gage of an Act allowing him to set a fishing weir in N. W.
side of W icomico river.

Which was adopted.

Also, by Mr. Humphreys, unfavorably,

On the memorial of sundry citizens of Dublin District, in
Somerset county, for a change in the place of holding elec-
tions in waid district.

Which was adopted.

The following Senate bills were read a second time and
ordered to be engrossed for a third reading.

1st. Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal Section 58 of Ar-
ticle 29, of the Code of Public General Laws, title "Courts,"
sub-title "Circuit Court of Baltimore," and to re-enact the
same with amendments.

2d. Senate bill entitled an Act to refund to the executor
or administrator of Samuel H. Birckhead, deceased, late Col-
lector of the 1st District of Harford county, a sum of money
erroneously paid into the Treasury.

3d. Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal Section 115 of
ch. 343 ol the Acts of 1874, relating to the City of West-
minster, in Carroll county, and to re-enact the same with
amendments.

4th. Senate bill entitled an Act to regulate the catching
of fish in the Choptank river and its tributaries.

On motion by Mr. German, (by unanimous consent,) it
was

Ordered, That the Committee on Finance ba directed to
enquire into the expediency of procuring a safe for the safe-
keeping of the bills and other papers of the Senate.

The Clerk of the House of Delegates appeared and deliv-
ered the following message:

BY THE HOUSE OF DELESAEES,

March 3d, 1876.
Gentlemen of the Senate ;

We respectfully propose, with the concurrence of your
Honorable Body, the appointment of a Joint Committee con-
sisting of three Members on the part of the Senate, and four
Members of the House of Delegates, whose duty it shall be
to visit Baltimore city and examine the different sites that
