House bill entitled an Act to extend the jurisdiction of the
Justices of the Peace for St. Mary's and Baltimore counties
to cases of assault and battery.

Which was read the first time and referred to the Commit-
tee on Judicial Proceedings.

House bill ent'tled an Act to amend the 4th Article of the
Code of Public Local Laws by adding thereto another Section
in relation to investments on account of the sinking fund.

Which was read the first time and referred to the Commit-
tee on Finance.

House bill entitled an Act to authorize and require the
Attorney-General to institute proceedings to forfeit the char-
ter of the Gas Light Company of Baltimore.

Which was read the first time and referred to the Commit-
tee on Judicial Proceedings.

House bill entitled an Act to authorize and require the
Attorney-General to institute proceedings to forfeit the char-
ter of the Peoples' Gas Company of Baltimore.

Which was read the first time and referred to the Commit-
tee on Judicial Proceedings

House bill entitled an Act to divide the 4th Election Dis-
trict of St. Mary's county, and to create an additional Elec-
tion District in said county, to te styled the 7th Election Dis-
trict.

Which was read the first time and referred to Messrs.
Lawrence, Ford and Hepbron,

House bill entitled an Act to create a new Election Dis-
trict in Prince George's county, to be known as District num-
ber thirteen.

Which was read the first time and referred to Messrs. Suit,
Steiner and Mudd.

House bill entitled an Act to provide for a General Index
of certain records in the office of the Register of Wills for
Queen Anne's county.

Which was read the first time and referred to Messrs. Ford,
Lawrence and Getty.

Also, returned,

Senate bill entitled an Act to change the dividing line be-
tween the 3d and 5th Election Districts of Garrett county.

Endorsed, "Passed by yeas and nays."

Senate bill entitled an Act supplementary to an Act to in-
corporate the Orphans' House and Episcopal Free School
