On motion by Mr. Bannon,
The Senate, at 3 P. M., adjourned.

WEDNESDAY, March 1st, 1876.

Senate met at 11 A. M.

Prayer by Rev. Father Schwartz.

Present at roll call the following Senators

Messrs. President, Aydelotte, Bannon, Brewer, Duke,
Dennis, Freeman, Ford, Getty, Hepbron, Humphreys,
Knight, Lee, Lawrence, Lloyd, McCulloh, Mudd, Newcomer,
Phelps, Stevens, Steiner, Suit, Walsh—23.

Proceedings of yesterday read and approved.

Mr. Ford presented the memorial of John K. Skinnner,
John W. Wood, and 20 others, citizens of Queen Anne's
county, praying that an Act be passed amending the Consti-
tution providing for a poll tax.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Judicial
Proceedings.

Also,

The memorial of Thos. N. Dodd, and 16 others, citizens of
Queen Anne's county, praying the State to buy the private
interest in the Maryland Agricultural College and model
farm.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Finance,

Mr. Lloyd presented the memorial of certain citizens of
Talbot county, asking the continuance of the appropriation
of $100,000 for the Colored Schools of the State.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Finance.
On motion by Mr. Stevens, it was

ORDERED, That the Secretary of the Senate be, and he is
hereby directed, to report as soon as possible to the Penate,
the names and employment of all the officers, clerks and em-
