paid into the Treasury.

Which were read the first time.

Mr Aydelotte, from the Committee on Education, reported
favorably,

Senate bill entitled an Act to increase the number of free
scholarships in the Baltimore Female College, providing for
one free scholarship from Garrett county.

Which was read the first time, and,
Ou motion by Mr. Aydelotte,

Was referred to the Committee on Finance.

Mr. Humphreys, from the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings, reported favorably,

Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal Sectio is 61, 52 and
53, of Article 16, of the Code of Public General Laws title
"Chancery," sub-title "injunction," and to re-eaact the same
with amendments.

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Stevens, from the Committee on Judicial Proceedings,
reported favorably,

House bill entitled an Act to repeal Section 2, of Article
37, of the Code of Public General Laws title "Evidence,"
sub-title "Competency of Witnesses," as amended by the Act
of January Session, 1874, chapter 385, and to amend and re-
enact the same

With the following amendment:

AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Line 20, on page 2 of written bill, after the word "Ex-
amined," insert "and testified to."

Which was adopted.

Said bill was then read the second time.

Also, favorably,

Senate bill entitled an Act to add an additional Section to
Article 30, of the Code of Public General Laws, title "Crimes
and Punishments," sub-title "Horse Stealing '

Which was read the first time.

Also, favorably,

Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal Section 38, of chapter
36, of the Acts of 1864, entitled an Act to add new Sections
to Article 10, of the Code of Public General Laws, title "At-
tachments," providing for attachments on original process,
and to re-enact the same with amendments.
